ly in your hearts, and He
has made hateful to you unbelief and transgression and disobedience;
these it is that are the followers of a right way.
049.008
Y: A Grace and Favour from Allah; and Allah is full of Knowledge and
Wisdom.
P: (It is) a bounty and a grace from Allah; and Allah is Knower, Wise.
S: By grace from Allah and as a favor; and Allah is Knowing, Wise.
049.009
Y: If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel, make ye peace
between them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against the
other, then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it
complies with the command of Allah; but if it complies, then make peace
between them with justice, and be fair: for Allah loves those who
are fair (and just).
P: And if two parties of believers fall to fighting, then make peace
between them. And if one party of them doeth wrong to the other, fight
ye that which doeth wrong till it return unto the ordinance of Allah;
then, if it return, make peace between them justly, and act equitably.
Lo! Allah loveth the equitable.
S: And if two parties of the believers quarrel, make peace between them;
but if one of them acts wrongfully towards the other, fight that which
acts wrongfully until it returns to Allah's command; then if it
returns, make peace between them with justice and act equitably; surely
Allah loves those who act equitably.
049.010
Y: The Believers are but a single Brotherhood: So make peace and
reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers; and fear Allah,
that ye may receive Mercy.
P: The believers are naught else than brothers. Therefore make peace
between your brethren and observe your duty to Allah that haply ye may
obtain mercy.
S: The believers are but brethren, therefore make peace between your
brethren and be careful of (your duty to) Allah that mercy may be had
on you.
049.011
Y: O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: It may
be that the (latter) are better than the (former): Nor let some women
laugh at others: It may be that the (latter) are better than the
(former): Nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each
other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting
wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do
not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.
P: O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than
they (are), not let women (deride) women who may be
