ot the law, is accursed. (50)Nicodemus saith unto them, (the same person who came to him by night, being one of their body,) (51)Doth our law condemn a man, without first hearing his defence, and knowing what he hath done? (52)They answered and said to him, Art thou not from Galilee too? Search and see: for a prophet, out of Galilee, never was raised up. (53)So each went to his own home. CHAP. VIII. THEN Jesus went to the mount of Olives. (2)But early in the morning he came again to the temple, and all the people came to him; and sitting down he taught them. (3)Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to him a woman caught in adultery; and placing her in the midst, (4)they say unto him, Master, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. (12)Then spake Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (13)The Pharisees said to him, Thou bearest witness of thyself; thy witness is not true. (14)Jesus answered and said to them, Though I do bear witness of myself, my witness is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I am going; but ye know not whence I come, nor whither I am going.
