You boast of your honesty and your exemplary conduct; but the God who sees through your hearts would be wroth with Him that made you, were He not the same that had also created the monsters of the Nile. They offer you freedom--you that are already their prisoners. They grant you your lives, and that is no idle pretence, for it is clear you are already condemned felons.
