ed into my bones, and I trembled in my place: That I should rest waiting for the day of trouble, When he that shall invade them in troops cometh up against the people. For though the fig tree shall not blossom, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labour of the olive shall fail, And the fields shall yield no meat; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. PRIESTS Lament like a virgin Girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth! The meal offering and the drink offering Is cut off from the house of the LORD: The priests, the LORD'S ministers, mourn. The field is wasted, The land mourneth; For the corn is wasted, The new wine is dried up, The oil languisheth. HUSBANDMEN Be ashamed, O ye husbandmen, Howl, O ye vinedressers, For the wheat, and for the barley; For the harvest of the field is perished! The vine is withered, And the fig tree languisheth; The pomegranate tree, The palm tree also, and the apple tree, Even all the trees of the field are withered: For joy is withered away from the sons of men. PRIESTS Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests; Howl, ye ministers of the altar; Come,
