r: Martha, Martha, thou art
anxious and troubled about many things. (42)But one thing is needful;
and Mary chose the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
XI.
AND it came to pass that, as he was in a certain place praying, when
he ceased, one of his disciples said to him: Lord, teach us to pray,
as also John taught his disciples. (2)And he said to them: When ye
pray, say; Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. (3)Give us
day by day our daily bread[11:3]. (4)And forgive us our sins; for we
ourselves forgive every one indebted to us. And bring us not into
temptation.
(5)And he said to them: Who of you shall have a friend, and shall go
to him at midnight, and say to him: (6)Friend, lend me three loaves;
for a friend of mine is come to me from a journey, and I have nothing
to set before him; (7)and he from within shall answer and say, Trouble
