Gxi okazis en Francujo, dum periodo de politika tumultego kaj
maltrankvileco. Neniu sciis kion atendi.

Sinjorino altranga, iom sciema, sed kiu estis ankaux malfelicxe
strabulino, renkontis, je vesperkunveno, politikiston. Sxi komencis
lin demandi pri tiu cxi kaj pri tiu afero, esperante tiamaniere
eltrovi kelkajn sxtatajn sekretojn.

La diplomato gxentile, sed artifike, respondis, kaj la sinjorino
gajnis nenion.

Fine, sxi kolerigxis, kaj ekkriis: Nu, diru al mi, mi petas, kiel
iras la politikoj?

La ministro tuj respondis: Tiel, kiel vi _vidas_, Sinjorino, _tre
malrekte_.

In reply to numerous inquirers, I regret to state that the Edition of
the First Number is exhausted. Intending subscribers can commence
with No. 2, or any succeeding issue.

If they will let me know what price they are prepared to pay for the
first number, I will try and buy some in.

How to tell the time in Esperantoland. This is a troublesome matter,
for two systems are in vogue, the German and the English. I was
surprised to find that French Esperantists generally use the former,
and, instead of saying _la kvar kaj duono_, for _half past four_,
they say _la duono de la kvina_, _the half of the fifth hour_. We
English must take care to remember this peculiarity, or we shall get
into trouble.

The difference between _Cxia_ and _Cxiu_ is as follows: Cxia means
_all sorts of_, whereas Cxiu simply means _all_, without regard to
kind. The same rule applies to Tiu, Tia; Kiu, Kia.

C.G.S.M. proposes that a column should be printed each month, in
which the roots and affixes are divided by hyphens. If other readers
