purple-bay then paler, edge striate, pellucid; g. nearly free, whitish
then tinged purple-bay; s. bay, apex paler and scurfy, pale flocculose;
flesh coloured.

Habitat on fungi like _C. tuberosa_, from which it differs in adnate
gills.
