of agriculture. The teachings are given in the familiar manner so well known in the author's "Walks and Talks on the Farm." Illustrated. Cloth, 12mo. $1.00 Money in the Garden. By P. T. Quinn. The author gives in a plain, practical style, instructions on three distinct although closely connected branches of gardening--the kitchen garden, market garden and field culture, from successful practical experience for a term of years. Illustrated. Cloth, 12mo. $1.00 The Pruning Book. By L. H. Bailey. This is the first American work exclusively devoted to pruning. It differs from most other treatises on this subject in that the author takes particular pains to explain the principles of each operation in every detail. Specific advice is given on the pruning of the various kinds of fruits and ornamental trees, shrubs and hedges. Considerable space is devoted to the pruning and training of grapevines, both American and foreign. Every part of the subject is made so clear and plain that it can be readily understood by even the merest beginner. Cloth, 8vo, 530 pages. Illustrated. $1.50 Transcriber's Notes: Passages in italics are indicated by _underscore_. The following misprints have been corrected: "English, bacon varieties of lard" corrected to "English bacon, varieties of lard" (Table of Contents) "acking" corrected to "Packing" (page 77) "vingar" corrected to "vinegar" (page 116) The wide table on page 78 has been split.
