[2] The names of trees and bushes are formed by adding the suffix
_-uj_ (or simply _-arbo_, tree) to the root denoting the fruit or
flower. E.g., _pruno_, plum--_prunujo_ or _prunarbo_, plum-tree;
_marono_, chestnut--_maronujo, maronarbo_, chestnut-tree; _rozo_,
rose--_rozujo, rozarbeto_, rose-bush.

[4] Where a country is called after its inhabitants, the Esperanto
name for it is formed by adding the suffix *-uj* (= that which
contains, see section "Suffixes") or *-lando* (land) to the root
denoting the inhabitant. Thus: _Belg-o_, Belgian--_Belg-ujo_,
Belgium; _Brito_, Briton--_Grandbritujo_, Great Britain; _Sviso_, a
Swiss--_Svisujo_, Switzerland; or _Belgolando, Skotlando,
Anglolando, Svislando,_ etc. Where the name of the inhabitants is
formed from that of the country, use is made of the suffix *-ano* (=
member of). Thus: _Euxropo_, Europe--_Euxropano_, European;
_Irlando_, Ireland--_Irlandano_, Irishman.
[5] See *-an*, section "Suffixes".

the fundamental roots of the language, will be found useful. It may
