[13:17]And woe to those with child, and those giving nurse in those days! [13:18]But pray that it may not be in the winter, [13:19]for those days shall be an affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created till now, and shall not be. [13:20]And unless the Lord had shortened those days no flesh would be saved; but for the elects' sake, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days. 4 [13:21]And then if any one says to you, Behold the Christ is here! Behold there! believe it not. [13:22]For false prophets shall arise, and perform miracles and wonders, to deceive, if possible, the elect. [13:23]But beware; I have foretold you all things. 5 [13:24]But in those days, after that affliction, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, [13:25]and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers in the heavens shall be shaken. [13:26]And then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds, with great power and glory. [13:27] And then shall he send his angels and gather together the elect, from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the end of heaven. 6 [13:28]But learn the parable of the fig tree. When its branch is now tender and it puts forth leaves, it is known that the summer is nigh; [13:29]so also when you see all these things occur, know that [the Son of man] is nigh, at the doors.
