The import duties and freight-charges on the goods brought from Nueva Espana, and entering this city are usually worth five hundred pesos, or thereabout, because the citizens of these islands to whom the goods are consigned have received the concession of not paying duties on goods to the value of three hundred pesos for the married person, and one hundred and fifty pesos for the single person; and because the bulk of these said goods is to be used for their households and comfort. U500 pesos, -- tomins. The duties on the goods exported from this city to the said Nueva Espana are usually worth fourteen thousand pesos.
